No we are not truly free. It is literally impossible. I love how people say that Americans live in a "free" country. That is literally one of the most diluted and false statements I had even heard. No we don't. Homosexuals cannot get married or serve in the military in this country. Ethnic groups don't have the rational choice to live wherever they want [do to racism]. America is not free; well just for white, heterosexuals, Christians.
Technically speaking you do have the freedom to do as you please, there is always some kind off trade off or legal ramification for some actions; but yes we can do whatever. There is however one thing you will never be free from... biological needs. You can never go without sleep, food, or even sexual desires.
We are free to a certain extent, don't say that America is a "free" country, you sound stupid. There is many other countries that are much more freer than America. Their citizens are just more educated and don't try to falsely market their country.
